If you enjoyed Herb and Dorothy, Megumi Sasaki’s first documentary on an adorable yet persistent art collector couple, then you’re sure to enjoy Herb and Dorothy 50×50. The documentary is Sasaki’s second film detailing the couple giving away 50 works to 50 museums in the United States. Well, the film isn’t quite complete but today I helped Sasaki get a few dollars closer to finishing the doc and I’m ecstatic about it.
Herb and Dorothy Vogel, a postal worker and a librarian began collecting art simply by what aesthetically appealed to them. They primarily collected post minimalist artworks and they lived in it, on it, around it, under it, and beside it. They are truly amazing people and an inspiration to collectors everywhere.
If your budget allows please give a few dollars toward the film’s completion and the world will be happy that you did.
